Kaduna – The Action Congress (AC) has described the administration of Governor Mohammed Namadi Sambo of Kaduna State in the last two years as a failure.
The party said that Sambo has been busy borrowing money from both foreign and local banks to execute phoney projects, pointing out that the debt profile will affect several generations of the indigenes by subjecting them to perpetual poverty.
In a statement entitled, Kaduna State is in Bondage, signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Musa Soba, the party said that money running into billions of Naira was borrowed from the Skye Bank, NEXIM Bank, Islamic Development Bank and the World Bank, among others.
The statement reads in part, “The Kaduna State chapter of the Action Congress (AC) views with serious concern the disturbing trend of events in the state under the leadership of Governor Namadi Sambo in the last 27 months.
“The globetrotting embarked upon by Governor Sambo in search of foreign and domestic loans for Kaduna State is ill-advised and ill-motivated at a time when the huge amount of money that accrued to the state in the last 27 months had not been judiciously utilised and accounted for.â€
“ Consequently, we failed to see the rationale behind these imperial loans that would further enslave the poor people of Kaduna State, multiply their agony and subject them to abject and perpetual poverty from one generation to another without commensurate remedy.
