Kaduna repatriates beggars

Kaduna — The Kaduna State Government says it will repatriate the army of beggars in Kaduna metropolis to their various states and local governments of origin.

The government said, yesterday, that it was worried by the number of beggars in the state capital pointing out that arrangements have been completed that every beggar in the street is not only taken to his state of origin but that those from the state are taken to their local government where their councils would cater for them.

The state Commissioner for Information and Home Affairs, who addressed newsmen on various issues, yesterday, also said that the government has banned demonstration against incessant power outage in the state by aggrieved indigenes.

According to Adamu any individual or community that takes the law into their hands and goes on rampage in the name of demonstrating against lack of power supply would be punished according to law.Adamu however, pointed out that government had made available transformers for the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) for distribution to needy communities in the state.
