Stoke City’s forward Victor Moses has vowed to fight his way back into the starting lineup of the Super Eagles in next month’s double header 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying against Sudan.

Moses was overlooked by interim coach Stephen Keshi  in last week’s matches against Congo and South Africa, two matches that the defending African champions were only able to pick a solitary point.

And having seen how the strikers paraded by Keshi were unable to net the goals, Moses feels that he has a very good chance to earn a recall into the Nigerian fold, provided he does well for Stoke City, who battle QPR in tomorrow’s Premier League match.

Speaking in an interview with the Stoke Sentinel, the Nigerian forward said that “I always love playing for my country. It is a thing of pride and that was why I chose to play for Nigeria over  England.

“I will always jump at the opportunity to play for Nigeria if invited by the manager and hope that I will get the chance to play again and hopefully put a smile on the faces of my fans. I am ready for the battle into the national team.

“But at the moment, the focus is to play well for Stoke City because I guess that we are mainly judged by our performance for our respective clubs and hope to do well in the next matches”, added Moses, who is yet to score for Stoke City in two Premier League appearances.

Nigeria travel to face Sudan on October 10 before hosting the return leg on October 15 in Calabar.
