Borno tanker drivers’ chairman defects from PDP to ANPP

Maiduguri – The Chairman of Borno Tanker Drivers Association, Alhaji Rawa Gana, on Monday defected from PDP to ANPP along with some 2,000 members.

Gana announced their defection while addressing ANPP supporters at a rally at Ramat Square in Maiduguri.

He said that the developmental strides recorded by ANPP in the state informed him and his members’ decision to join the party.

“ANPP has changed the life of everybody in Borno as the administration of Gov. Ali Sheriff contributed to the development of all sectors of the state’s economy,” the chairman said.

Also speaking, the state Chairman of the National Association of Roads Transport Owners (NARTO), Alhaji Hassan Alkali, called on all organisations in the state to support ANPP to win the forthcoming elections.

The state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Yuguda Dibal, who received the members, assured them of better and equal treatment in ANPP.

Dibal urged people from other political parties to emulate the decision of the tanker drivers and defect to the ANPP, saying it was the only party that could lead Borno to a greater height.
