Pioneer Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nuhu Ribadu, has warned Nigerians to desist from politicising the current wave of anti-corruption fight being waged by the EFCC so as to rid the nation of the monster.

Former Delta State governor, Chief James Ibori, has described as horrible, revolting, nasty and totally false, the claim by Mr. Nuhu Ribadu, former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Chairman in newspapers that he (Ibori) approached Ribadu with $15 million to stop his investigation.

ABUJA— A former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, yesterday, expressed frustration with the inability of Nigeria to investigate and punish all who were implicated in the Halliburton bribery case.

Former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu yesterday said the decision by the Police Service Commission (PSC) to demote him, and later dismiss him from the Nigeria Police Force was nulled by the court, necessitating reversal of the action taken by the government.

Chariman of Police Service Commission and former Inspector-General of Police, Sir. Mike Okiro, yesterday, reacted to allegations by former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu, that he was behind two failed assasination attempts on his life and not Ibori. Okiro said in a statement released in Abuja that Ribadu is an inveterate liar.”

As the confiscation hearing of assets of former Delta State Governor James Ibori entered its fifth day in London, yesterday, the former EFCC Chairman giving evidence of how Ibori offered him $15m bribe, said under oath that neither he nor the EFCC had an investigation file, notes of calls, meetings, briefings or records detailing the offer of the alleged bribe between him and James Ibori.
