THE Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, and the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Godswill Akpabio, have both asked a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to dismiss a suit by two Niger Delta activists,  demanding the sack of the NDDC Interim Management Committee, IMC.

The immediate past acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr Joi Nunieh, has denied that the agency spent N22.6billion under her stewardship, just as she alleged that the Niger Delta Affair Minister, Senator Godswill Akpabio, threatened her to do his bidding or be removed from office.

A legal practitioner, Mr. Godwin Ojeh, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari, President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmed Lawan, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Femi Gbajabiamila to stop the alleged payment of N15 billion to NDDC contractors.

Niger Delta Renaissance Coalition, Saturday commended, Senate Committee on NDDC for their effort in uncovering what it described as ‘ongoing looting in NDDC’, noting  that Godswill Akpabio, the Niger Delta Minister, and Interim Management Committee cannot manage and supervise forensic audit in the commission.
