AHOADA—TWO villagers who hurried to their farms in Rivers State to harvest cassava due to the threatening flood have regrettably been drowned by flood, while an outbreak of skin diseases has been reported in some of the over 70 communities affected by flood in the state.

FLOOD has overrun Our Saviour’s Hospital, the leading private sickbay in riverine Bomadi community, Bomadi Local Government Area in Delta State, forcing the management to evacuate patients on sick bed to Silver-Rays Hotel in the locality.

An environmentalist, Mr John Ekoko, on Monday urged the Federal Government to equip communities in the management of flood in the affected areas.
