Lagos, November 09, 2019 – Ecobankmobile *326# has announced its partnership with the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2019 slated for Lagos Nigeria from 20th through 23rd, November. AFRIMA, Africa’s most glamorous music event, is an annual celebration of African talents from all regions of the continent. The Lagos Awards which is the 6th edition has as its theme: “Feel Africa”.

Lagos, October 30, 2019 -Ecobank Nigeria has announced that access to its *326# Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) is at zero cost to the consumer. By this announcement an Ecobank customer who performs transactions on the bank’s platform by dialling *326# is free of the USSD session fee.

Ecobank Nigeria Limited has cancelled charges on USSD transactions. The Managing Director of the bank,  Patrick Akinwuntan disclosed this while speaking at the 4th National Fintech Conference in Lagos.

The Chief Executive Officer of Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), Ade Ayeyemi says it is important for Nigerian bankers to work together to ensure that the banking industry does its bit to support the development of the Nigeria economy. Mr. Ayeyemi who was responding to media questions during the conferment of Honorary Fellow on himself and some astute bankers by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) in Lagos noted that there is also need to build capacity of people within the banking industry to be able to understand what needs to be done and to support the Nigerian government in doing the right things.

Abuja, October 8, 2019 – Ecobank has advocated that Nigeria takes the lead and positions itself to get optimum benefits from the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). According to the bank, Nigeria undoubtedly has the largest and most vigorous economy in Africa and therefore must position itself to lead in the continent with a population of about 1.2 billion people that is projected to double by 2050, making it one of the largest free trade area the world.
