Daughters of Chibok, a documentary by Nigerian film maker, Joel Kachi Benson, weekend, clinched the ‘Best Virtual Reality Story’ award at the Venice Film Festival.

The Presidency has welcomed with reservations a new book, titled “Beneath The Tamarind Tree”, written about the kidnapping of 270 Chibok school girls, by Isha Sesay, the ex-CNN broadcaster and now a Child Rights activist.

Parents of these missing girls(they are no longer girls)cannot stop grieving. The anguish faced by the relatives of the missing girls is indescribable and one can only imagine their pain and distress over the last five years

Nigerian women have called for the release of of the 112 Chibok girls still in the captivity of the Boko Haram insurgence. They also called for the release of the only Dapchi girl, Leah Sharibu among others.

IT was an emotional sight across the world as Nigerians all over the world gathered to empathise and solidarise with the children and families of the abducted school girls five years on. Tears freely had a field day as speakers took turns to express misgivings over the five years captivity of the Chibok school girls. From Abuja to Lagos and  all over the world, the Bring Back Our Girls(BBOG) campaigners congregated under the theme : “INTERFAITH VIGIL” which held from April 12th to April 14th. At the Unity Fountain in Abuja, 112 empty seats depicting school seats of the Chibok girls were arranged. The leading voices of the campaign in Abuja like Oby Ezekwesili and Aisha Yesufu were present as an honour to mark the grand finale of the vigil on Sunday 14th of April.One of the parents broke down uncontrollably as she wept bitterly telling God via proverbs to intervene.  

The Federal Government has assured the international community that it is working with its Swiss partners and others, on a daily basis, to track and secure the release of remaining abducted Chibok Girls still in captivity.

Chief of  Army Staff, COAS, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, yesterday said the search for the remaining abducted Chibok girls was still on, just as he described the Boko Haram insurgency in the country as the most dangerous among terrorist groups.

President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed that he will not rest until all the remaining missing Chibok girls are back and reunited with their families.

As the country marks the fifth anniversary of Chibok Girls, abducted by the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists, President Muhammadu Buhari, Saturday, assured Nigerians that they would return safely in due time.
