Ever since Nigeria got her independence in 1960, successive governments have made several attempts at creating a supreme body of laws, or constitutions, for the easy administration of the polity. Nigeria was founded on the false tripod of three major tribes: Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo, whereas, there were over 250-500 ethnic nationalities in Nigeria.

When you have a powerful ruler, you have more local government councils, then you have more states created in your area. But as I said earlier on, in the first republic there were three regions; Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe was in charge of Eastern Nigeria, Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the Western Nigeria and Ahmadu Bello for Northern Nigeria. They created this federation and they said everyone must be equal. No citizen of one region was superior to the other.
