Begin your ibadah on a good note
We praise Allah for being part of those who will observe this Ramadan. Many had wished to observe this month, but they have not got the grace to be alive today while many others have also not got the wherewithal to observe it. Alhamdullilah.
Good bye Ramadan!
It has been a rewarding 29-day spiritual activity: a period of recompense, a period of closeness to Allah, a period of illumination by the Glorious Qur’an, a period of re-direction of destinies and possibilities, of charity, of divine blessings. It is indeed a memorable period.
RAMADAN TALK: I’tikaf for Night of Majesty
As the rainy season is suitable for farming, where crops and farm produce will grow and remain fresh, the period of Lailatul Qadri is a period for renewing our relationship with Allah and ensure closeness to Him.
RAMADAN TALK: Night of Majesty, another huge opportunity
In about a few days from now, we will bid the Ramadan month farewell. How have you spent the last three weeks? Has it been fruitful, spiritually exciting and physically rewarding or have you wasted the time unknowingly? Ramadan, as usual, has flown by.
RAMADAN TALK: Observing I’tikaf (2)
Ramadan fast has been prescribed for all Muslims for the development of their souls and to enable them subdue their carnal appetites. This much exertion and sacrifice of sensual desires has been made obligatory upon every Muslim; that he neither eats nor drinks anything nor seek sexual satisfaction during the whole of the blessed month, in compliance with the command of Allah (SWT) and in the process avoid all sinful acts.
RAMADAN TALK: Observing I’tikaf (1)
We have read from different scholars that Ramadan is divided into three parts of 10 days. The most important part of Ramadan is said to be the last 10 days. The revelation of the Qur’an, the night of majesty, the blessings, among others, had been perfected in it.
RAMADAN TALK: Feeding the poor, profitable venture with no risk
Fasting for a couple of days might be all it takes to understand the suffering of those who go without food in their own way of life. Understanding the plight of the poor is one part of what Ramadan is meant to achieve. We are therefore reminded severally both in the Qur’an and hadith that giving food to fasting Muslim is a great deed in the month.
RAMADAN TALK: Repent! Allah is Oft-forgiving
The merits and rewards of ‘Tawbah’ repentance to Allah especially in this month cannot be exhausted. The Prophet in one of his messages told us that woe be unto any one who failed to utilise this month in seeking forgiveness of sins and in order to earn Allah’s pleasure. Allah the most high says in the Holy Quran: “Indeed Allah loves those who repent and purify themselves.“ Q2:222
RAMADAN TALKS: Your relationship with the Qur’an
As_salam Alaikum waramotullai, wa barakatuh!
WE are moving to the first half of Ramadan, some Muslims do not have any relationship with the Qur’an. This is the month in which the Holy Qur’an was revealed. It is very necessary to reflect over the chapters of the Qur’an, read, digest it, and let it live with you.
Take even as little for Sahur
As-salam Alaikum waramotullai, wa barakatuh!
The kindness of Allah cannot be overemphasised when one ponders on the blessings in the act of eating sahur during Ramadan. For almighty Allah (SWT), it is not enough blessings that He provides us with food on our table, but He further blesses anyone who wakes up in the first rays of dawn to eat the same food for sahur.
