Rajab as the seventh month in the Islamic lunar calendar reminds us of the preparation of Ramadan. In less than five weeks from now, preparation would have reached high levels by Muslims individuals for the glorious month.

Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has blamed the problem of insecurity in the country on bad leadership, injustice, mismanagement of national resources and deceits by the government.

In our immediate environment and surroundings, signs and wonders of the message of the Holy Qur’an abound. It is not sufficient to see signs but as Muslims, we have to go a little further to be able to decipher it and praise Allah for his wonderful works.

The first word revealed of the Qur’an was “Iqra” READ! Seek knowledge! Educate yourselves! Be educated. It is an undeniable fact that education is the most important thing in life. The framework of Islamic thought represents a comprehensive view of life and the hereafter.

SABR (Patience and Perseverance): A Muslim must learn to be steadfast and very resolute with Allah particularly in the period of adversity. And must realize that every supernatural healing property other than the correct Islamic way is apparently deceptive and usually bear a certain consequential compensation either immediate or future.

EVENTS in the recent time have shown that Muslims need to do more on preaching with their characters than by talking. This is because the continued security challenges have erroneously placed the Muslims where they do not belong.

“In it are Signs Manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah,- those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, Allah stands not in need of any of His creatures. “. (3:97)
