A wake-up call to parents
The greatest advantage Muslim parents have over their children is the existence of Quranic verses and Prophetic hadiths that remind us of how we should treat our parents; of how they should be cared for when they grow old. Sadly, however, sometimes parents use this as the most effective way of emotionally blackmailing or manipulating their children to achieve their own desires and whims.

A betrayal of Islam
In spite of the ideological differences in the Sunni and the Shiites, I personally, I never thought of myself as anything but Muslim and I know many also share that sentiment. The fundamental belief is that there is only one God, Allah, then the Prophet, and the Qur’an There is no two Qur’an and there […]

It literally means seeking or requesting for what is good or best for oneself concerning an affair – a prayer taught to the Sahabah, by the Prophet. Istikhaarah is performed whenever one has difficulty […]
Stop being just human
ONE of the virtues which Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) harped on and indeed shoed exemplary leadership is Patience and Perseverance. Unfortunately this is found missing in the lives of many Muslims. Even our leaders who are supposed to show this character are found deficient in patience. That account for some of the ills we have in Islam especially in this part of the world. Allah mentioned the word Sabr – patience in 90 places in different chapters of the Qur’an. He equates patience with success and at another point with faith. He places huge reward for those who are patient.
