MAN tasks Muslims on charity

The Muslim Association of Nigeria, MAN, has enjoined Nigerians to uphold the legacies of Prophet Muhammed by showing mercy to the poor.

Administrative Secretary of the group, Abdulateef Yakub stated this during a public rally and presentation of gift to Orphanages and old Peoples home as part of activities marking the Maolud Nabbiy- the birth of Prophet Muhammed (saw).

He said Nigerians should emulate the lifestyle of Prophet Mohammed by giving on to ‘the poor.

“The prophet mandated it that we should show mercy to those that are below us so that Allah will show mercy on us too.

There are people who don’t have the opportunity to take care of themselves, so we need to encourage them by showing love to them. One of the ways to show love is to visit the less privileged in the society.

The MAN team led by the National Vice President Alhaji Tajudeen Ojikutu donated foodstuffs, clothes, detergents and drinks to four institution in Lagos state, Old People’s Home Onike, Randle General Hospital Surulere and Modupe Cole Orphanage, Ikeja.

The 3.5 kilometer rally which took off from the MAN centre at Amosu Street, Off Bide Thomas saw participants passing through Babs Animashaun Street, femi Ayantuga Street, Adelabu Road, Ogunlana Drive Akerele Extension, Adeniran Ogunsanya street before terminating the rally at its National Headquarters.
