Results of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), for admission into universities, polytechnics and colleges of education held on Saturday, June 18, 2011, were released within four working days (Thursday, June 23). Thanks to the digital revolution going on in JAMB initiated by its Registrar, Professor Dibu Ojerinde.

Professor Anthony Oguntoye, Lecturer, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos has said that for President Goodluck Jonathan to be remembered for good after his four years in office , he should be able to empower Nigerians in the area of education, electricity and infrastructures. He dismissed the attitude of leaders concentrating on too many agendas without achieving any at the end of tenure, referring to it as lack of clear goals and proper priorities.

Federal College of Education (Technical) Akoka, Lagos has been given 250,000 -dollar- grant by the World Bank. Speaking at a forum organised to sensitise the staff and students of the college on the need to embrace the Science and Technology Education Post Basic (STEP B) project in Lagos, the Acting Provost of the College, Mr Sijibomi Olusanya, said that the World Bank’s 250,000-dollar-grant to the institution would be used to facilitate ICT-based learning.
