The peace enjoyed by residents of Idomila community, located off Agbara Igbesa area of Ogun State, was, in the early hours of Monday, suspended following sporadic gun shots which jolted the residents from sleep.
The gun shots, described as one of the worst in the history of the community, were initially concluded to be from robbers. But when the dust settled, it was discovered to be a gun duel between operatives of Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja and suspected members of a notorious kidnap syndicate that used a building in the community as hideout.

Child trafficking: How suspects were rounded up
The recently paraded child trafficking syndicate at the Lagos state police command, Ikeja, were arraigned at the Apapa Family court on Thursday, May 30th 2013. Driver, conductor remanded over alleged armed robbery
A commercial bus driver,Steven Emeka, 24, and his conductor, Tosin Kadri, 20, were last Monday, remanded in prison custody for alleged armed robbery. The defendants who are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery were arraigned in a Lagos Magistrate’s court, sitting in Ikeja, before Magistrate Abimbola Oshodi-Makanju.
