In Katsina State, there is a strategy in place by the state government to bring housing within the reach of the common man. The strategy is to build houses and sell to people at half price. The General Manager of Katsina State Housing Authority, Alhaji Surajo Aminu Makera, speaks more on the strategy in this interview.

INTERNATIONAL Finance Corporation,IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, has announced a $9.5 million (United States Dollars) investment in Jabi Lake Mall located in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja. The investment is borne out of the huge demand for modern business infrastructure and retail space in FCT.

In an attempt to improve the nation’s ailing roads infrastructure, the World Bank said that it has committed a total of $564.5million to the country’s road infrastructure projects. The bank did not state the period during which the investment was made. On the negative side, the World Bank predicted a more than100 percent rise in deaths from road accident in Africa, from an annual estimate of 200,000 persons to 500,000, unless concrete steps are taken to avert the doom.
