Ignore globalisation at your peril , NIMN tells marketers

The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) said that Nigeria cannot be left out in the scheme of globalisation, as the institute is determined to move the nation forward.

The institute said it is repositioning itself as a catalyst in Nigeria’s strategic transformation. Speaking, Luggard Aimiuwu, President/Council Chairman, NINM at the celebration of Icons, Fellows and life members and achievers, where Prof. Godwin Odah, Prof Ogwo.O.Ogwo and others, were rewarded for their contribution to the body of marketing, Aimiuwu thus warned the  recipients of the award, prospective and existing marketers that. ‘globalisation is here, for real, announcing it’s presence daily through it’s hallmark feature; interconnectivity, comunication speed, instantaneous information, disappearing trade boundaries and fiscal barrier,’ whilst stressing that Nigeria and Nigerian marketers cannot be left at it’s own peril.

The NIMN president went further to say that the institute is not denying the existence of peculiarities, ‘indeed the globe is made up of peculiarities.

Every nation, town, village, street, home has its peculiarities.  However, the winner, in the fiercely aggressive competition of the post -meltdown, borderless world, will be those who are able to think globally, while managing their local peculiarities professionally, for competitive advantage, he observed.He warned further that no one will manage Nigeria’s peculiarities for it. “The world will not for Nigeria.
