Chief Francis Vevakpor, Chairman Urhobo nation, Host communities of Nigeria, producing Oil & Gas (HOSTCOM) has commended General E.O. Obada (rtd) and all members of the reconciliation committee for bringing peace and unity to the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) hitherto engulfed in leadership crisis.
Speaking in a statement, Chief Venakpor, noted that what General Obada did was a step towards unity in Urhobo nation, adding that the crisis truly threw the UPU into disarray as the people became a sheep without shepherd in the dark.
Drawing similarity between what happened in (UPU) when the crisis lasted, and what is going on now in (HOSTCOM) Delta central within the Urhobo ethnic nationality, Vevakpor disclosed that, “there are some individuals who are bent on holding on to power and they are averse to passing on the baton of leadership to others.
