Yola—No fewer than six persons were feared killed as strong rainstorm ravaged Shelleng and Guyuk local government areas of Adamawa State.
Vanguard gathered that more than 2,000 residential houses alongside federal and state government structures were seriously damaged.
According to the report, the local government secretariat, Divisional Police Station, hospitals, among other government property, had their roofs completely blown off.
The member representing Shelleng in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Shelleng had raised a matter of urgent attention on the floor of the House on the need for quick government intervention.
He told the House that more than 3,000 families had been rendered homeless by the devastating rains, which occurred weekend.
