State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Joe Igbokwe said: “The totally devastated Shelle who has been suffering votes of no confidence since the last elections told his party members in Amuwo Odofin Lagos that former president Goodluck Jonathan allowed APC to get away with a lot of illegalities during the last elections, which led to his own defeat. According to Shelle if Jonathan had won the presidential elections, PDP would have used soldiers, Police, DSS, SSS, Civil Defence among others to steal Lagos.

APC wants to influence Tribunal outcome — PDP

Meanwhile, the Lagos PDP has accused the APC of attempts to influence the outcome of the Elections Petition Tribunal sitting on some selected PDP petitions.

In a statement by its publicity secretary, Mr Taofik Gani, the party vowed to resist such further harassment, saying it is prepared to appeal any miscarriage of justice at the tribunals.

The statement read: “For sometime, we have kept quiet and ignored the deliberate antics, manipulations and forms of intimidation employed by the APC legal teams at the various tribunals in the state. We have endured enough and now we want the APC and the said lawyer to desist from further attempts to intimidate petitioners.”

We want justice and that is why we approached the tribunals. We strongly hope and expect that the tribunals should not adopt any procedure that is not expressly provided for in the electoral act or any other laws to shut us out to the streets.”
