Senior Special Adviser on Entertainment to Edo State governor, Mr Roland Igbedumhe, has lauded the decision by state government to include youths in its administration, saying that the democratic process in Nigeria was now evolving beyond the mere political structure of parties to a synergy that is breeding young, dynamic youths with enormous potentials.

Speaking yesterday, in Benin, the Edo-born comedian, said: “Today, entertainers are benefitting from the political structure. For instance, the introduction of entertainers in some states of the federation, and Edo State in particular, is a welcome development. It is on record that Edo State Government, led by Mr. Adams Oshiomhole and his deputy Dr Pius Odubu, has engaged the services of four entertainers, all serving as Senior Special Assistants to the Governor on the entertainment, tourism and protocol duties.”

Igbedumhe, who goes by the stage name, Youngest Old Man, admitted that he was overwhelmed by the opportunity given to them to serve in Oshiomole’s administration.

“We have all agreed that it has been wonderful working closely with the governor of Edo State. The opportunity given to us has been very beneficial to me, the call to service has helped transform my personality and has given us the opportunity to become role models to youths around us,” he added.

According to Youngest Oldman, “there’s a great need to appreciate the founding fathers of the party of change, Asiwaju Tinubu, (ACN), Ogbonnanya Onu, (ANPP), General Muhammadu Buhari, (CPC) Rabiu Kwankwaso and Rotimi Amaechi of the new PDP and the comrade Governor of Edo State Adams Oshomhole, who gave us the opportunity to serve.

“There has never been any government in the history of Edo State that has empowered the youths and gave the youths an opportunity to participate in governance like this present administration.

We do hope this new political change will create a means to reduce the unemployment rate among the youths.
