ONITSHA—The Standard Organization of Nigeria, SON yesterday said it would soon raid markets in Anambra State with a view to flushing substandard products out of the system.
The State Director of the organization, Albert Wilberforce, spoke at the Harbour Industrial Layout, Onitsha, while presenting a Mandatory Standardization Certificate, MANCAP to Dozztephan Industries Limited, producers of Piko Flavoured Drinks, a member of Dozzy Group of Companies Limited.
Wilberforce, who represented the Director-General of SON, Dr. Joseph Odumodu at the ceremony, said, although no specific date for the raids had been scheduled, SON must continue to encourage local industries by teaching them how to measure up to minimum industrial standard, after which ailing companies would be closed and their substandard goods flushed out of the system.
