Return home and contribute your quota, Abia people abroad tasked

By Ediri Ejoh

Former President of Umuahia Development Association, UDA, in the United States of America, USA, Sir Chudi Onyeama, yesterday in Lagos, called on Abia State citizens in the Diaspora to return home and participate in the next political dispensation in the state.

Onyeama, who is seeking election to the House of Representatives to represent Umuahia-Ikwuano Federal Constituency, said charlatans had been left on the political stage in Abia State for too long.

He said the input of citizens of the state in all walks of life was needed to re-position the state and make it viable.

According to him, lack of quality representation and poor governance have been the bane of Abia State and had left it at the bottom of the development ladder. He added that he had decided to return home to make his expertise available for the transformation of his state.

“After more than three decades sojourn abroad, it is time to make my skill available for the transformation of the deplorable human condition of my people.   Other citizens of Abia State should also come to the rescue,” he stated.

Onyema, a development expert, said the best approach to take Nigeria out of the doldrums was for its citizens in the Diaspora to return home to contribute their knowledge.
