Keshi has already said that he has unfinished business with Nigeria and so his wish to continue as Super Eagles coach.

However, he has made it very clear he wishes that a new contract will take in an official house and car, which was not the case in the first contract.

He also maintained prompt payment of his monthly salary and the need for him to pick his backroom staff.

There were suggestions by top NFF technical committee members Paul Bassey and Garba Lawal on Monday that former Nigeria coaches like Shuaibu Amodu and Christian Chukwu could well handle the national team in a temporary capacity till negotiations have been concluded with Keshi.

Nigeria host Rwanda on September 7 in their first qualifying match for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. South Africa and Sudan are the other teams in this group.

Keshi’s initial contract ended with the World Cup in Brazil.

In his three years in charge, he led the Eagles to win a third Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa and qualified the country to a fifth World Cup.

Nigeria also reached the Round of 16 for the third time at Brazil 2014.
