ABEOKUTA—The remains of late legal icon and foremost human rights activist, Chief Godwin Olusegun Kolawole, GOK, Ajayi, SAN,were interred at his Igbeba residence in Ijebu Ode yesterday amidst tributes and eulogies from prominent personalities.

The funeral service was well attended by dignitaries, including clergymen, lawyers and other guests at the Cathedral Church of Our Saviour, Ijasi, Italowajoda, Ijebu Ode.

Earlier, the Bishop of Ife Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Rt. Reverend Oluranti Odubogun, in his sermon described GOK Ajayi as a perfect gentleman who   was exceptionally brilliant in his chosen profession.

Odubogun also said the deceased lived a selfless life, adding that he had time to serve God, and contributed to the development of the church. He prayed for the widow, Olayinka, children and grandchildren for God to comfort them.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, in his tribute, described GOK Ajayi as legal titan,”who used his profession to identify with the masses.”

On his part, Tunji Ayanlaja, SAN, who said he learned under the legal icon, noted that his legacies would endure for generation yet unborn.
