A former Controller General of Nigerian Prisons Service, Mr. Akanam Effiok, has urged Nigerians and   families of victims of the Nigerian Immigration Service recruitment tragedy to ignore calls for the sack of the Internal Affairs Minister, Comrade Abba Moro.

Effiok said in a statement that like most Nigerians, he was shocked by the tragic events of Saturday, March 15, 2013, and expressed sympathy to the families of those, who died and the seriously injured ones in the exercise.

Effiok said having closely followed reactions from Nigerians from all walks of life, “it is my considered opinion that it will not be wise to throw away the baby with the bath water, considering the good intentions of the Minister who was not only out to enthrone transparency and credibility,  which have eluded similar exercise in the past.”
