In a remarkable recognition of her decades-long contributions to technology, entrepreneurship, and social inclusion, Nigerian business leader Olubukola Moyo Babajide has been appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by His Majesty King Charles III as part of the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours List.

The honour, one of the United Kingdom’s most prestigious national awards, was officially announced on 13 June 2026 and published in the UK’s official public record, The Gazette. Babajide was recognised “For services to Technology, to Business and to Inclusion.”

The Founder of Crystal Options Ltd, a strategy and transformation consultancy, and Founder of Female Techpreneur, a platform committed to empowering women through technology, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and innovation, Babajide joins a select group of Nigerians and global changemakers whose impact has transcended borders and transformed communities through innovation and leadership.

For Babajide, fondly called ”Bukky”, the award is not merely a personal achievement but a validation of a lifelong commitment to creating opportunities for others.

“Receiving the MBE is deeply humbling,” she said.
“This honour represents more than an individual milestone. It is a recognition of the power of technology to transform lives, the importance of building inclusive businesses, and the responsibility we all have to create pathways for women, young people, and underserved communities to thrive.

“I accept this honour with gratitude, not only for myself, but for every female entrepreneur, every woman breaking barriers, and every young person daring to dream beyond limitations. This recognition strengthens my resolve to continue building ecosystems where innovation and inclusion go hand in hand.

“It is also noteworthy to mention that the Ooni of Ife, in his congratulatory message described this recognition as a source of immense pride not only to Nigerians at home and abroad but also to the entire African continent,” she added.

Babajide is a respected entrepreneur, business strategist, advisor, and speaker with a track record of helping individuals and organisations navigate growth and transformation.

Over the years, Babajide has become a trusted voice on topics ranging from digital transformation and leadership to gender inclusion and entrepreneurial growth, speaking at conferences and mentoring emerging leaders across different sectors. Through Female Techpreneur for instance, she has inspired and supported countless women to embrace digital skills, launch businesses, and participate actively in the global innovation economy

While the honour has now been officially announced, the formal investiture ceremony, where recipients are presented with their insignia by a member of the Royal Family on behalf of the King, is expected to take place at a later date in the United Kingdom.

Babajide’s recognition carries significance beyond her personal story. It shines a spotlight on the growing global influence of Nigerian innovators and the increasing role of women in shaping the future of technology and business.
As one of the few Nigerians recognised on the King’s Honours List this year, her achievement sends a powerful message about excellence, resilience, and the impact of purposeful leadership.

Her work spans business transformation, digital innovation, leadership development, and social impact, with a mission to create sustainable opportunities and empower individuals to achieve their fullest potential.
