Preparations are underway for the 2026 edition of the African Iconic Women Recognition Awards (AIWRA), scheduled to take place at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja.

The awards are organised by Fajag Concept, the owners of Face of Democracy Nigeria, and recognise women across Africa for achievements in different professional fields.

According to the organisers, the 2026 edition marks the 15th anniversary of the awards and will be held under the theme “Elevate at 15th.”

The event is expected to attract participants including policymakers, entrepreneurs and development advocates from different parts of the continent.

In a statement, the Founder and Chairman of Fajag Concept, Olufunsho Alexander Olumuyiwa Ajagbonna, said preparations for the event had reached an advanced stage.

He also acknowledged the continued collaboration with the management of Transcorp Hilton Abuja, noting that the venue has hosted previous editions of the awards.

Organisers said some of the individuals listed for recognition this year include Oluremi Tinubu, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Lordina Mahama and Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, among others.
The organisers added that the event would focus on recognising women who have made contributions in leadership and development across the continent.
