It was a night of pride, applause and celebration as businessman and philanthropist Daniel Ogudugu took centre stage at the Esan Icons Award 2025, where he was officially honoured as Esan Man of the Year—one of the event’s most coveted titles.

The star-studded ceremony, organised by Dave Entertainment International, held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, in Emaudo, Ekpoma, Edo State, brought together community leaders, cultural icons and dignitaries to celebrate outstanding Esan achievers making real impact at home and beyond.

Ogudugu, the Chief Executive Officer of Daniels Homes Limited and Geovina Hotel and Suites, as well as the founder of the Daniel Ogudugu Global Initiative Foundation (DOGIF), was celebrated for his tireless humanitarian work and deep commitment to community development. From tackling homelessness and hunger to championing child welfare and providing consistent support for widows and widowers, his initiatives have continued to touch lives across Esanland and other parts of the country.

Beyond the applause and camera flashes, the honour recognised a philosophy rooted in dignity, inclusion, transparency and long-term empowerment—values that have shaped Ogudugu’s approach to philanthropy and social impact.

Presenting the award, Ambassador Dave Akhabue, organiser of the Esan Icons Award, described the recognition as both timely and well deserved. “The Esan Man of the Year title is reserved for individuals whose leadership, integrity and actions have translated into visible impact for the people,” he said.

He further praised Ogudugu’s consistency and compassion, noting that his work reflects “uncommon selflessness and a genuine commitment to humanity that continues to uplift Esanland and inspire positive change.”

The Esan Icons Award remains an annual celebration of excellence, legacy and influence—spotlighting individuals whose achievements and service are shaping the cultural, social and economic future of Esanland. With his latest honour, Daniel Ogudugu joins the growing list of icons whose stories continue to inspire the next generation.
