The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has completed the training of 1,300 ward agents as part of its nationwide electronic registration exercise, aimed at building a credible digital database of party members ahead of future elections.

Chief Flavor Eze, State Coordinator of APC e-registration in Enugu, explained that the training ensures accuracy and eliminates errors during registration. “We want to make sure that there is no mistake at all during the registration. If we don’t get it right, there will be a problem. Our focus is to ensure that everybody is registered correctly,” he said.

Eze expressed satisfaction with the progress, noting that the trainees had fully grasped the instructions. He highlighted the broader benefits of mass registration, saying, “Not only Party faithful but all citizens of Enugu will benefit. This is because when we have a good number of people as members, the administration of Governor Peter Mbah, which is doing wonders in Enugu, will continue beyond 2027, and our President, Bola Tinubu, will also win convincingly in Enugu.”

The training involved five individuals per ward, with plans to extend the programme to village canvassers to recruit more members. With Enugu State comprising 260 wards, a total of 1,300 ward agents have been trained. “The APC will have a structured approach, and these agents will also play a key role during elections,” Eze said.

Addressing network challenges, he noted, “Once the agents capture the information, they can upload it from areas with network access.”

The e-registration exercise, ordered by the President to conclude by January 31, 2026, is expected to meet the deadline thanks to the large number of agents deployed per ward. “Other states have two people per ward, but we have five, which allows us to complete the exercise efficiently within the timeframe,” Eze added.

The initiative forms part of APC’s broader strategy to strengthen its grassroots presence and ensure a transparent and inclusive membership process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
