The Deputy National Organising Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Saleh, has said Zamfara State is showing strong signs of readiness for political change, as he rallied support for the ADC and described it as a growing alternative platform in the country’s political landscape.
Speaking at a well-attended party gathering in Zamfara over the weekend, Saleh — who also holds the title of Baraden Maru — praised the enthusiasm of residents and party supporters, noting that the ADC was steadily gaining visibility as a credible option ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“I can assure you that the people of Zamfara State are ready to embrace change,” Saleh said. “Many are looking ahead to a future that works for all.”
He also expressed appreciation for the presence of former Kaduna State Governor and ADC national leader, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who attended the event alongside other stakeholders.
“Your Excellency, we appreciate your presence and your support. By coming to Zamfara, you have reinforced the message that unity and commitment are critical as we work towards building a nation that offers opportunities for everyone,” he said.
Saleh urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and encourage eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). He assured that the ADC would provide a level playing field for all aspirants.
“We will continue to strategise and mobilise support in the coming weeks and months,” he added.
In his remarks, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai commended Saleh for his organisational capacity and commitment to the party, describing him as a dependable and visionary leader within the ADC.
“I’m particularly impressed with the passion and dedication Alhaji Atiku Saleh has shown for the ADC,” El-Rufai said.
He also encouraged party supporters in Zamfara to remain united and engaged in strengthening the party’s presence in the state.
“Let us continue to support the ADC. And whenever Atiku Saleh calls on you, please show up and give your full support,” he said.
The gathering drew ADC stakeholders and supporters from across the North-West region.
