Burutu, Delta State – May 2025 — The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State has formally adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for re-election in the 2027 general elections.

This resolution was reached during a strategic meeting of party leaders and stakeholders held at the Ogboagbene residence of former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe. The gathering, which brought together representatives from all eleven wards of the LGA, was marked by a strong call for unity and collaboration among party members.

Elder Orubebe, who was unanimously endorsed as the national leader of the Ijaw APC in Delta State, expressed joy over the political alignment among leaders in the area.

“Today is one of my happiest days,” Orubebe declared. “In the past, during election seasons, I would always be strategizing on how to outmaneuver the opposition. But now, we are all united under one party—the APC. There should be no distinction between old and new members; we must all be loyal to the system that has given us the President, the Governor, and the Council Chairman.”

He emphasized the significance of unity within the party, stating that the collaboration of leaders from across former party divides marked a progressive step for both President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori.

“The most exciting thing is that all political leaders, formerly in different parties, are now united. This is not only beneficial for our leaders but also for the people of Burutu,” Orubebe said. “If we work together in loyalty and unity, there is nothing we cannot achieve.”

Addressing past divisions among Burutu’s political elite, he urged leaders to put an end to infighting, blackmail, and sycophancy, calling instead for a renewed spirit of cooperation.

“I have spoken with the state government on the development needs of the Ijaw people,” he revealed. “Before Governor Oborevwori leaves office in 2031, I am confident we will see tangible progress.”

A major highlight of the meeting was the formal adoption of Tinubu and Oborevwori for 2027, moved by Barrister B.O. Ekpese and seconded by Mr. Ignatius Kiakia. The motion was met with unanimous support from attendees.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of APC’s commitment to grassroots mobilization and unity in Burutu as the party prepares for future elections.
