ABUJA – In response to Nigeria’s mounting socio-economic and security challenges, Evangelist Israel Oluwafemi Aderemi has called on citizens to join a nationwide prayer movement for the nation’s peace, unity, and prosperity.

The cleric emphasized that the initiative is a divine mandate aimed at invoking God’s intervention in Nigeria’s affairs, particularly for its leaders and institutions.

The call was made during a press conference held in Abuja, where Evangelist Aderemi addressed journalists and stakeholders. He outlined his commitment to leading daily online prayer sessions from Monday to Friday.

The prayer initiative comes at a time when Nigeria is grappling with economic hardship, insecurity, and political uncertainty.

Evangelist Aderemi stressed that the initiative is not limited to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration but extends to all branches of government, including the executive, legislative, and judicial arms.

He urged Nigerians to pray for divine wisdom, integrity, and justice for leaders, as well as for the success of the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The cleric revealed that the prayer mandate was divinely inspired, tracing its origins to a spiritual encounter in 2006. He claimed that God had shown him the future of Nigeria, including President Tinubu’s rise to power, and warned that failing to support the current administration could delay the nation’s progress until 2063.

Evangelist Aderemi also called on religious leaders, churches, and all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to participate in the prayer movement. He emphasized that the nation’s stability and development depend on collective spiritual efforts, urging citizens to rise in faith and unity.

The cleric expressed confidence that Nigeria’s challenges can be overcome through consistent prayer and divine intervention. He reiterated his belief that the nation will experience transformation, peace, and prosperity in the near future.

He said, “God has commanded me, and placed in my heart a burden to pray for Nigeria, our beloved nation, and especially for our leaders—President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the executive arm, the legislative body, and the judiciary without any reservation.

“In obedience to this command, I am committed to be praying fervently for our leaders every Monday to Friday, and the prayer time will be 12 noon–1 pm ONLINE. This is not just a duty but a necessity, as the peace and progress of Nigeria depend on God’s intervention.

“In 2006, as I was completing my Bible College studies, I had an unforgettable encounter with Pastor E.A. Adeboye, who told me, ‘God has given you a special assignment for our nation. Do not resist it, for you cannot escape it.’

“Since 2019, God revealed to me that Bola Ahmed Tinubu would become the president of Nigeria. While I was praying for someone else in 2017, He told me, ‘Son, the person you will work with is this man. He is the one I will use.’

“I urge you all to rise and pray genuinely for our nation. Many have said that Nigeria cannot be healed, but we must believe that God can turn things around.

“This divine assignment is not just personal but a call to all Nigerians to intercede with me for our nation and our leaders.

“As we embark on this journey of intercession, we trust that God will hear our prayers and bring transformation to our nation.

“It is my firm belief that through our consistent prayers of intercession, we the citizens, and our nation Nigeria, will experience divine favor, stability, and progress in the Mighty name of Jesus.”
