…empowers six charities with N37mn

A group, ‘Worship for Change’, Not-for-Profit Organisation yesterday, said it has cumulatively disbursed N160 million to Nigerian Children with special need since inception in 2006.

Also, on February 11, six charities caring for orphans and children with special needs received a total of N37, 750, 000; N6,125, 000 each in support of their work in caring for vulnerable children.

The charities include: Flora Trust foundation, Lagos State; Gilead Initiatives, Lagos State; Agbedare Jesus Care Foundation, Oyo State; Gold Gate Missions, Adamawa State; Bethesda School for the Blind, Lagos State; Jesus Orphanage, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Speaking at the Worship for Change presentation of Cheque to beneficiaries of the Green Worship 7 benefit concert, held in Aguda, President & Chief Responsibility Officer, Worship for Change, Mr. Wale Adenuga, said that All donations were made possible by the selfless contributions of people individuals who attended the Green Worship 7 concert, an initiative of Worship for Change as well as those who participated in the 21 days of giving campaign.

However, Green Worship is an evening of worship featuring Worship artistes and also a benefit concert wherein awareness and support will be raised for charities caring for orphans and children with special needs.

He said Worship for Change through her benefit concerts has raised millions of naira and impacted the lives of thousands of indigent children, even as he explain that charity organizations must be genuinely working for children with special need to qualify.

Adenuga said: “The charities we are helping specifically care for orphans and children with special needs. Things are becoming challenging these days, so the support we have raised would go a long way to support them and help create awareness for what they are doing.

“We have been doing this since 2006; cumulatively we have raised and distributed over N160 million over the years.

“To qualify, we must be sure they are doing the work, we do not work with middle men, we work directly with the people doing the work. We ensure that the people we are helping are actually doing the work. We also ensure to choose charities from within the countries, to create a good spread.

Since inception Worship for Change has raised and disbursed including today N160 million, impacting 44 charities transforming the lives of thousands of children across Nigeria. With unwavering dedication and continued support, we remain committed to making greater impact on the child, one time at a time”, he said.
