It was a night of worship, honour and celebration as Bishop Blessing Samuel, General Overseer of Royal Place Ministries International, marked his 50th birthday in the presence of family, ministers, church members and well-wishers from across the United States and abroad.

The US-based clergyman, widely respected as a seasoned preacher, global revivalist and philanthropist, was honoured for five decades of life, grace and Kingdom impact. Dignitaries including Prophet Frank Udoh, Apostle Sean Anike and Apostle Courage Igene joined the Golden Jubilee celebration.

The highlight of the evening came when Bishop Samuel took centre stage and praised God with various dance steps in a heartfelt and decorous manner. Guests described the moment as a spontaneous overflow of gratitude. For many, it painted a prophetic picture of a man who has walked through battles choosing to dance into his sixth decade.

Speaking during the event, Bishop Samuel said turning 50 feels like the beginning of a fresh start.

“I feel great and I feel blessed. I thank God for His grace that has kept me this far. I also thank God for the wonderful people He has placed around me, and for blessing me with a beautiful wife. God is doing a new thing,” he said.

He described the milestone as surreal.

“When I look back, I see the hand of God in every season — the good, the bad, and the in-between. I am grateful that I am alive, healthy, and still standing to serve God and humanity.”

According to him, the celebration was planned and executed by his members.

“50 is a milestone and it’s worth celebrating. I have gone through a lot in my life, but thank God I am still here by His grace. The message was gratitude. We just wanted to give God all the glory.”

Bishop Samuel said he is most grateful for life, grace, mercy, favour, the ministry committed into his hands, and for his wife who has been a pillar of support. Two moments stood out: when the choir sang a song he composed during a major challenge, and the overwhelming love and turnout from pastors, members, friends and family.

Looking back, he shared three key lessons from 50 years: stay in God’s will, be careful who you trust, and do good even when it is not reciprocated, because God sees and rewards.

Reflecting on his ministry journey, Bishop Samuel noted that his 20s and 30s were about foundation and endurance, while his 40s brought expansion and battles. Now at 50, he believes a new season has begun.

“The past decade shaped me most through betrayal and disloyalty. Ministry will teach you that,” he said. “But God has been faithful. Faith carried me because I learned to lean not on men, but on God.”

As he steps into his 50s, he said God is calling him to greater global impact.

“To achieve greatness, you must be focused, purpose-driven, and consistent. For this next phase, God is calling us to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. The next 10, 20 years will be greater. We are going deeper in missions, in raising leaders, and in impact.”

He stressed two priorities: preaching the gospel so Jesus can be revealed to everyone, and practical charity and empowerment.

“The church must not only talk, we must meet needs. People need to see the love of Christ in practical ways.”

Bishop Samuel said he wants to be remembered for impact, love, sacrifice, honesty and the fear of God.

“If the next generation can see Jesus in me and run with that, then my life would have counted.”

To young ministers, he offered this counsel: “Never jump the process. Be focused. Be honest. Be patient. Believe in yourself, but yield to the Holy Spirit and trust God all the way.”

He also highlighted his quieter philanthropic work.

“People see the pulpit, but they don’t always see the help behind the scenes. This season reminded me that God is calling me to do even more of that.”

Expressing appreciation to his wife, his team at Royal Place Ministries International, spiritual fathers and partners, he declared: “Expect greater work than we have ever done. I am focused and I am trusting God for it. The best is yet to come.”
