Elizade University mini-Olympics kicks off

Elizade University is set to host its first-ever Elizade University Mini Olympics, a landmark event aimed at promoting diversity through sports and fostering unity within the university community. The competition will take place from June 21 to June 27, 2021, on the university’s campus in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State.

The Mini Olympics will bring together students from all faculties, with first-year to final-year students competing against one another in a variety of sports, including table tennis, chess, badminton, football and basketball, among others.

As the university’s Assistant sports coach and a member of the sport committee, Promise Iheanacho expressed excitement about the event, highlighting its mission to strengthen relationships among students and encourage active participation in extracurricular activities.

“We are thrilled to launch the Elizade University Mini Olympics,” Iheanacho stated. “This event is not just about competition; it’s about celebrating the diversity within our community and fostering friendships among students across all faculties. It’s a unique opportunity to bring everyone together through the power of sports.”

The university has been working tirelessly to ensure the event’s success. “We are 100 per cent ready with the venues for all events.,” Iheanacho continued. “Additionally, we have set up essential facilities to make this event a memorable experience for everyone.”

The Elizade University Mini Olympics is expected to set a new standard for intra-university sporting competitions, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to holistic student development and community building. Students are encouraged to show their support by cheering on their respective faculties and participating in this historic event.
