Seyi Sowunmi launches End-of-Year Welfare Programme for Ojo Constituency

In a move to bring festive cheer and relief to the people of Ojo Federal Constituency, Lagos State, Honourable Seyi Sowunmi has announced his End-of-Year Welfare Programme.

The event is scheduled for December 21, 2024, at 11 am.

The event, set to take place at Ajagbandi High School, underscores his commitment to uplifting his constituents during a season synonymous with generosity and community spirit. 

As the deputy caucus leader of the Labour Party in the House of Representatives and the national chairman of the Labour Party Legislators Forum, Hon. Sowunmi has consistently championed initiatives that directly benefit his constituents. In his statement, he highlighted the scope of the welfare programme, which will distribute essential items to families in need. 

“The welfare programme will provide essential items to those in need,” he stated. “This includes 1,200 bags of rice, 100 units of 5-liter vegetable oil, 3,000 pieces of spaghetti, and 988 pieces of baby diapers. Additionally, the programme will offer 1,500 sachets of tomato paste, 400 plastic buckets, and 400 mosquito nets to ensure that families have access to basic necessities.” 

The programme’s reach goes beyond food and hygiene items, addressing diverse needs within the community. “In a bid to cater to the diverse needs of the community, the programme will also provide 5 yards of Guinea material for 400 individuals, 1,200 packets of seasoning cubes, and 6 yards of wax prints for 400 people,” Hon. Sowunmi added. “Moreover, 800 pieces of sanitary pads and 400 pieces of children’s wear will be distributed, emphasizing my commitment to promoting health and well-being among women and children in the community.”

“This programme is not just about distributing items; it’s about fostering unity and showing love to the people I represent,” he emphasized.
