The President of God’s Kingdom Society (GKS)—The Church of the Living God, Brother Felix Ekundayo Adedokun, has called on Christians to remain spiritually vigilant, using the Word of God as their defense against the devil’s attempts to exploit human weaknesses.

Speaking at the 2024 Freedom Day Divine Service held at Salem City, the GKS Headquarters in Warri, Delta State, Adedokun delivered an address titled “Let Him That Thinketh He Standeth, Take Heed Lest He Fall” to commemorate Christ’s birth anniversary.

The GKS president emphasized the need for Christians to guard against compromise and spiritual complacency, warning that overconfidence in personal righteousness or achievements could lead to a fall.

Citing biblical examples, Adedokun warned against the dangers of pride, urging Christians not to consider themselves too righteous or infallible.

“In our seeming magnitude of righteousness, duration in God’s service, or perceived hefty contributions to the Church, we must remember that we will be punished more severely if we knowingly violate God’s laws,” he stated.

He reminded Christians that the devil remains active, seeking opportunities to mislead and destroy. He urged members to use their talents, resources, and positions to promote God’s will and benefit humanity.

“Be impartial, stand on the truth, show selfless leadership, and promote peace and equal opportunities,” Adedokun admonished. “These virtues lead to peace, economic abundance, and prevent strife, chaos, and misery.”

Adedokun encouraged Christians to exercise strong faith to rise above worldly temptations and trials, noting that such faith equips believers with the strength to endure life’s challenges.

The event drew an unprecedented crowd of GKS members and friends of the Church. Brother Andrew Eseoghene Ekireghwo, a Minister of the Church, delivered the day’s sermon titled “Was Christ Born on Christmas Day?”

Highlights of the celebration included special prayers, thanksgiving, musical presentations by the GKS Choir and other choral groups, and a reception at the GKS headquarters’ playground. Attendees were treated to music, entertainment, and refreshments to mark the joyous occasion.
