ALL roads lead to the sprawling Redemption Camp as the Holy Ghost Service of the 14th annual Holy Ghost Congress holds today.

As at Thursday, the population of people coming to the camp ground for this year’s Congress has increased tremendously with more and more people trooping in from different parts of the country.

There were rumours that the security situation in the country may have adversely affected attendance especially as some foregin nations may have subtley advised their nationals against traveling to Nigeria.

But an insider told our reporter last night that it was initially difficult for some foreign min-isters to secure visas but after pressure from stakeholders the problem was overcomed.

A cursory look at the environ-ment surrounding the Congress Arena showed that deliberate efforts had been made to keep the place clean while at every corner of the auditorium, groups and certain individuals were busy praying seriously to God for a new thing to happen in their lives in line with the theme of this year’s programme; “A NEW THING”.

One official of the sanitation team, Tope Oluwalogbon told our reporter that the sanitation situation in the camp is satis-fatory, adding that the number of people using the convenien-ces is till low.

“The pressure definitely will increase as the event progresses, especially on Friday when camp ground will be filled with influx of people all over, particularly those working who were unable to attend from Monday to Thursday,” she sta-ted.

It is also gratifying to note that traffic in and out of the venue thus far had been fantastic with several deatchments of security personnel collaborating with other drawn from the church to maintain law and order on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

A source close to the RCCG told our reporter that the church had actually gone out of its way reach out to all stakeholders to ensure that there is free-flow of traffic on the road especially at this period of the year.

“If you observe very well the church authorities had establish-ed more car parks within the sprawling Camp to dissuade people from parking on the roads,” the source who pleaded anonymity, stated.

Of course, you will agree with me that the more car parks the church constructs, the more there is the need for more. I am sure you heard Daddy G.O, when he said even the audit-orium that seats countless num-ber of worshippers has become too small and he is already nurs-ing a dream of a bigger one. The more facility you build in this place we will need,” he explain-ed.

It will be recalled that the Gen-eral Overseer while preaching a sermon on Wednesday night titled; ‘Total Freedom’, had said that the current auditorium had grown too small and the ministry is already thinking of a bigger place of worship.

The facility will be overstretched today when people will be coming from all walks of life to be part of this year’s Holy Ghost Service.

… 13 babies born in 3 days

A TOTAL of 13 babies had been delivered at the Redeemed Maternity at the Redemption Camp in three days of the Holy Ghost Congress. Making the announcement just before his sermon, the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye said as at 8.00 p.m., the breakdown of the number showed that the girls had taken an early lead. Eight girls and five boys.
