Maritime stakeholders operating at the Tin can Island Port complex in Lagos have once again complained about the deteriorating condition of the port access roads in Lagos as it affect the smooth running of business within the port premises, even as they have tasked the government to ensure that it finds a lasting solution to the bad roads.

Investigation carried out revealed that right from the PTML terminal to the popular tin can second gate, there is a constant and recurring standstill for vehicles and petroleum tankers trying to make exit out of the port and the situation according to some is taking a bad toll on port activities.

A maritime consultant, Ajisafe Ademola last week told  Vanguard  that on a weekly basis trucks laden with containers and petroleum products struggle to exit out of the port complex but find it difficult to do so, he explained that broken down vehicles and junks that have broken down along the axis also contributed to the problem by creating a long traffic that usually last for a whole day.
