Gulder 5-A-side enlivens Lagos

It was a carnival pf sorts in Lagos, weekend when the Gulder 5-A-side Football Championship, Lagos zone, got underway, as over 2000 teams came to participate in the competition that will produce only two teams for the national tournament.

Speaking on the high turnout of clubs, Ejiro Omonode of Master Sports said that the competition has come to stay for good in Nigeria, adding that it is commendable that youths from different part of Lagos and beyond were eager to feature in the competition.

“This is a good project and it must be commended, I believe if we all key into the project, it will improve our football at the international front. You can see for yourself  the level of turnout here today, I believe if we can make the best use of this platform that has been provided by the sponsors that we can begin to talk about getting back on track,” Omonode said

Also speaking, the Brand Manager, of Gulder, Seun Lawal said that the firm will continue to commit more resources into this competition because it is one of the ways that Nigerian youths can be constructively engaged and be lured away from unscrupulous activities detrimental to peace and progress of the nation.
