‘Army Captain’ nabbed with Indian hemp

Yola—A middle-aged man, Adah Emanuel, who has allegedly been parading himself as an Army Captain has been arrested by men of the Nigerian Army in Michika, Adamawa State, with substances believed to be cannabis sativa (Indian hemp).

Parading the suspect and his accomplice, simply identified as “Bassey” at the 23 Armoured Brigade Barracks, Yola, before handing over the suspects to National Law Drugs Enforcement Agency NDLEA, the Brigade- Commander, Brigadier- General John Nwaogo, said his men on routine state check suspected the Identity Card  shown by suspects and apprehended them.

The Commander said that  upon interrogation of the suspects and search of their Mercedes Benz car with number-plate Lagos AW945 FKJ, it was discovered that they had in their possession more than 200 wraps of the substances.

Nwaogo said the Army was interested in the case and was ready to deal with criminals who paraded themselves as military officers to perpetrate crime.

Adamawa State Commandant of NDLEA, Alhaji Musa  Zungeru, commended the army for the arrest and urged it not to stop in supporting the agency in ridding state of drug barons and peddlers.
