The Immaculate Conception College Old Boys Association, ICCOBA, has honoured Edo State Chief Judge, Justice Cromwell Idahosa and the State Head of Service, Mr. Anthony Edokpayi with a merit award of excellence.
The Chief Judge and Head of Service were both classmates at the Immaculate Conception College that graduated in 1969.
President of ICCOBA, Benin Branch, B.O Irusota said they chose to honour the CJ and HOS in appreciation of the heights they have attained in their chosen careers.
He said the award was in recognition of the numerous achievements and to remind the CJ and HOS that people were watching their good works.
“We want to let our community know that whatever virtues and values have carried our two brothers this far in life, the root can be traced to the sound foundation that was laid during their formative years in ICC. Is there any wonder then that we old boys are so proud of our alma mater.
Hon Idahosa and Mr. Edokpayi have carved a niche for themselves. We want to prove to young ones that hard work pays.”
Responding, Justice Cromwell Idahosa described the award as the greatest honour he has received coming from people that knew him when he was young and naked.
Justice Idahosa recalled how the school authorities then retained the services of outgone students to teach them.
“They were leaders then, we learnt a lot from them. We admired their ways and strived to be like them.”
On his part, Anthony Edokpayi said it was not an easy task reaching the pinnacle of his career having been the longest serving permanent secretary.
