Former Bayelsa Chair man Felix Beke has urged  the Flying Eagles not to relent on their oars but  learn from every mistake made in each match played so as to improve in subsequent matches at the World Cup.

According to Beke, “there is more to learn as the competition progresses because it is not over yet until it is over. In a competition like this, any team that want to achieve their aim need to be more careful and  make less mistakes  in order for them to succeed.”

And  to achieve this mission, Nigerians on their part, need to be consistent in their support. This is one aspect that we have always failed to achieve in competitions like this, especially when they are not doing as we want. But with  what I have seen so far, the team will go places in this competition.

Apart from the U-20  team coached by Siasia  in 2005, I have not seen any team like this before. These boys are fast and good on the ball. I must confess they are a  perfect team. If they can continue like that, they will end up making history.

“Croatia is not a small side but the way the Eagles handled them shows that they are experienced.  I believe in them and I see them  lifting  the trophy this time around. However, I must say that this might be one of the most difficult World Cups we will ever experience because we have other tough teams to contend with.

For instance, Brazil are not a team to toy with.  One good thing about the Flying Eagles that I discovered is their exposure, this is one of the most exposed teams Nigeria have gotten in recent time. They have played a lot of tournaments and have travelled a lot, so they deserve to be strong.

My advice to Obuh is to continue to build confidence in the boys and also tell them not be intimidated by names.”

The Nigerian side were expected to battle Saudi Arabia in the early hours of today in the last Group D match to decide who tops as both sides have six points each.
