So many youths travelling abroad for university education do so for several motives. For some students, the major reason is to avail them of opportunity to work while schooling and after graduation.

But for Opeoluwa Oyekon, a graduating student of Trinity International College, Ogun, who had 5As and 1B in his Cambridge result gave reasons why he prefers foreign university to Nigeria varsities.

Opeoluwa, who turned seventeen May 25, 2011, attained the best Cambridge result with 5(A) stars and one B affirming that the result is the best any student can get from Cambridge examinations.

With the result, Oyekon noted, he aspires to study Chemical Engineering in University of Albiter, Canada because the government of the land has invested heavily in the institution saying: “The school is one of the best institutions in the world because they have oil resources for practical and research work so that after my degree I will come back to Nigeria to improve on the things we have here.”

Addressing the press recently during Trinity International College graduation ceremony, Oyekon stated that he was focused and determined from inception to make a good result. “This consciousness of success inspired me to give extra time to my study,” he said.

Speaking at the occasion, the principal of the school, Mrs Folashade Toyin Philips who was newly promoted for her hard work to the position of executive director, Trinity International School said she was fulfilled with the promotion adding that she will not relent in her oars but work adder to achieve the purpose of her office.

Mrs. Philips maintained that her success was a collective effort of both the staff and parents as a tree cannot make a forest saying that a leader who does not have a good follower cannot succeed.

She reiterated that the moral and education discipline inculcated in the students were through the cooperation’s of the parents as it was not easy for a principal to stand her ground to say, this is what she wants for the students without oppositions from parents.

I told the parents that the discipline meted on their children was for their good, it may not be appreciated now but it will in the future. “It is not every thing that is fashionable that is good,” she told the students.

She insisted that her goal is to have a better Nigeria tomorrow who will be able to occupy governance and sanitized the system. As the new executive director, she hinted that she wants to take the school to another level as there are a lots of things yet to be done.
