In line with its corporate and business strategy of enlisting as well as engaging customers towards improved life style, CAP Plc, a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria and a licensee of AkzoNobel, a global leader in paints manufacturing and coating business, revealed that it will introduce more products to the market, even as it unveiled citrus yellow as colour of the year.
Speaking at the event that held recently in Lagos, the Group Managing Director / C.E.O. of UAC of Nigeria Plc (UACN), Mr Larry Ettah said the colour of the year event has gained a global reputation because of the enormous resources that have been deployed into the study of colour and its dynamics.
He made know that every particular shade of colour has been proven to symbolize certain characteristics.
Citrus yellow, he said is a light, airy colour that symbolizes a freer spirit, sense of fun and positive energy. “This beautiful colour gives everyone hope and optimism for the future as it is illuminating, cheery, refreshing and uplifting” he pointed out.
Mr Ettah, who is also the chairman of CAP Plc, reiterated that the colour citrus yellow is good at promoting communication and learning, helping to combat fatigue and depression while at the same time promoting feelings of well-being and positive thought-pattern.”
“It also enhances our mental capabilities, mood and in turn helps to minimize anxiety and stress.
Also speaking at the event, the Managing Director of CAP Plc, Mrs Omolara Elemide said: “As a major producer of paint coatings, we have over the years discovered that colour is extremely important. Therefore, we pride ourselves with the vast knowledge of colour trends and colour formulations in paint.
Continuing, she noted that, each year CAP Plc chooses a particular colour as colour of the year. In 2007, it was candy love, Majestic yellow in 2008. In 2009, cool jade, then jazz blue in 2010 and this year citrus yellow which symbolizes emotional warmth and well-being.
“We believe this citrus yellow will enable our customers and stakeholders to create excitement in their life have and ultimately impact positively on their well- being”.
