The National leader of Rivers Peoples Congress, RPC, has applauded the conduct and results of the National Assembly elections in Rivers State. Chief Martins Kunumgbe in a statement, said by the outcome of the elections  in the state, the people of Rivers State have finally said no to enemies of the state.

He said that under the previous administrations, the state was  under oppression, with cultism, kidnapping and all sorts of violence holding sway. He listed Okuru Town, near Abuloma; Amadi Ama town, Obakiri and Okrika/Ogu/Bolo as areas that fell victims to criminal attacks under the past administrations, adding that Governor Chibuike  Amaechi had saved the state from the horrors of the past.

He said it was in solidarity with Amaechi that Rivers people cast their votes last Saturday in the state. Chief Kunumgbe urged the people to turn out in their numbers during the governorship election and vote for Governor Amaechi.

According to him, Amaechi is the bridge and current solution to the problems of Rivers State, adding that a vote for him will set the state free from oppression even as he also encouraged them to vote for President Jonathan in this Saturday’s Presidential poll.
