Former Enyimba Coach, Maurice Cooreman has pointed out that Enyimba’s lackluster performance in resent matches in the Nigerian Premier League is a result of the Abia State Government’s lack of care but opined that the team will perform in their CAF Champions League encounter against US Bitam of Gabon this weekend in Libreville.

While speaking with Sunday Vanguard Sports, the former Ocean Boys Coach indicated that the strength of the team lies in the experience of their coach.

“Enyimba’s challenge is that of the government. The government is busy with election, so they give little attention to the club. The welfare of the players is very paramount in that they have to take care of their family. The family is an integral part of a player’s psyche for optimal performance.

“They have the experience of playing in the continent so I thing they would be able to manage a point from Union Sportive of Gabon. I know they have not been playing too well, but their knowledge of the continent will count for them.

Commenting on the technical abilities of the team’s coach, Okey Emodi, the former Lobi Stars handler said that “he knows the game in the continent as he has been there before with the team and he did well. I know him well enough to say that he will put the team in a good shape for the game and come out with a good result,” Cooreman stressed.
