John Togo’s boys beg FG

By Emma Arubi
WARRI — Former MILITANTS under renegade war lord, John Togo, yesterday, appealed to the Federal Government to integrate them into the amnesty programme and pay their salaries, which  were stopped since November 2010.

They also said they had accepted amnesty and that people should stop looking at them as being part of the current militancy of John Togo, adding that they are waiting to attend their training and get their wages.

In a statement to the Special Adviser, Presidential Committee on Amnesty by Peter Atima, Chairman and Bekederemo Ejomafovwe, Secretary, the former militants said, “we took this amnesty on the grounds that whosoever returns to militancy will be dealt with. Therefore, it is wrong to group those of us who embraced amnesty and decided to renounce militancy as one of Togo’s followers.”

They, however, expressed regret that up till date, some of them have not been trained while others have not been paid their salaries and allowances since November 2010.
